NRCS Funding Programs
Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP)
Eligible Projects: Forest Stand Improvement, Invasive Species Control, Water Quality
EQIP provides financial and technical assistance to address natural resource concerns and deliver environmental benefits. For Wisconsin landowners, this often covers the costs of forest health practices and wildlife habitat establishment, helping you implement science-based stewardship with reduced financial risk.
Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP)
Eligible Projects: Wildlife Habitat Enhancements, Multi-year Management
CSP is designed for landowners who are already taking steps to steward their land but want to do more. It offers annual payments for maintaining and expanding conservation activities. Eligibility is based on your current stewardship level and your commitment to high-impact biological enhancements across your property.
State-Level Support
Wisconsin offers robust programs to assist private landowners in protecting their natural heritage. The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) provides the Managed Forest Law (MFL) program, which reduces property taxes in exchange for long-term sustainable forestry management. Additionally, the Wisconsin Forest Landowner Grant Program (WFLGP) offers cost-sharing for management plans and practices like invasive species control and reforestation. Our state-level support focus is on helping you understand which of these ecological initiatives align with your land's features and your personal stewardship goals.
